Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Blanked At PLU

TACOMA, Wash. - Allie Seracuse was peppered with shots all game long with only two hitting the back of the net. The excellent effort proved not to be enough however as the Whitman College women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Pacific Lutheran in Northwest Conference play on Sunday.

The Blues (0-5, 0-2 NWC) gave up a goal in each half, the first coming less than a minute before halftime. Ashlee Gormley, assisted by Danielle Lisk, beat Seracuse to prevent what looked to be a goal-less game heading to the break.

Seracuse, who made five saves in her 90 minutes of action, kept her team in the game but a Lute goal in the 71st minute put PLU (4-1-1, 2-0 NWC) in the driver's seat. The Blues were by no means out of it trailing by only two goals, but with little serious scoring opportunities the game seemed out of reach.

Ashton Huppert made one save in a full game of action for PLU.

The Blues have a quick turnaround for their conference home opener, hosting Whitworth on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Kickoff at the Whitman Athletic Complex is set for 2:30 p.m.
