SPOKANE, Wash. - The Whitman College women's soccer team gave up two goals in the first half and another four in the second and in 6-0 at Whitworth in Northwest Conference action on Wednesday night.
Though very comparable in shots, the Pirates took advantage of their opportunities by netting half of their shots taken. There were six different goal scorers for the Bucs (2-6-2, 2-4-1 NWC) in the game.
Whitman (4-6, 1-6 NWC) already faced an uphill battle but were still in the match after entering halftime down two goals. Shots to the left side netting in the first 10 minutes beat Hannah Hagler to put the Bucs up 2-0.
Whitworth scored twice more just over five minutes apart from each other in the second half to all but put the game away. Laura Pierson found Baylee Trejo who played a ball to Lauryn Roszak. Roszak finished past Emily Badgley who had come in at halftime for the Blues. Trejo then gave Whitworth its fourth goal when she scored in the 60th minute.
Whitman will look to regroup with a visit to Linfield this Sunday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
