McMINNVILLE, Ore. -
Hannah Hagler posted her third straight shutout, helping the Whitman College women's soccer team to a solid goalless road draw at Linfield in Northwest Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Soccer Complex.
Hagler, the reigning NWC Defensive Player of the Week, made four saves in net with each necessary in securing an important point on the road.
"We had to battle through a very physical match," said coach Michelle Voiland. "We created a lot of great opportunities and put together a strong second half, hitting the crossbar and missing wide twice by inches. The chances are there and we just need to capitalize on them. Anytime you can get a shutout and a point on the road is a good day."
The Blues (4-2-3, 3-1-1 NWC) had the lionshare of chances on goal, outshooting the Wildcats 13-6 with several narrow misses.
Emilee Miller did her part in net for Linfield (3-3-3, 1-2-2 NWC), registering eight saves in her shutout result.
With three straight results, the Blues will look to keep it rolling with a visit to Willamette on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
