Blues Sweep George Fox, Eye Regular Season Finale

NEWBERG, Ore. - The Whitman College swimming teams continued their Northwest Conference dominance, both taking down George Fox on Saturday in dual meet action. The men's team won 148-101 and the women's team took down the Bruins 157-88.

John Leeds and Andrew Kim were the multiple event winners for the Blues in the men's competition. Leeds topped the field in both the 50 free (22.42) and 100 free (49.07) before winning the 200 free relay (1:29.88) with Kim, Keenan Tiddle and Adrian Dulong.

Kim, in addition to his relay win, topped the field in the 500 free with a race time of 5:06.62.

Josephine Piel and Avery Riley both won a trio of races on the women's side. Piel opened the meet winning the 200 medley relay (1:56.28) with teammates Ella Tyroler, Rachel Sapper and Gwen Empie. She later took top honors in the 100 free (56.87) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.86).

Riley won the 400 IM (4:51.68) and 100 butterfly (1:01.40) before closing the meet winning the 200 free relay (1:46.25) with racemates Shaye Agnew, Cassidy Monroe and Anneliese Hanson.

The Blues compete in their regular season finale next Saturday, Feb. 1 when they host Whitworth for Senior Day.
