Grant Hunt Named NWC Defensive Player of the Year, Two Others Honored

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Announced on Tuesday by the league office, Grant Hunt, Isaiah Amato and Ali Efe Isik were named to the Northwest All-Conference Men's Basketball Team.

Hunt was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season after being one of the league's premier on ball defenders. He ranked fourth in the conference in steals per game (2.2) and total steals (35). Hunt also garnered second-team all-conference honors.

Amato had a standout season and earned his first all-conference selection, landing himself a spot on the second-team along with Hunt. He ranked eighth in both steals (1.9) and assists (2.8 apg). He posted 13.9 points per game which put him 11th in the league.

Efe Isik made his second all-conference appearance, repeating his honorable mention selection from a season ago. Along with being Whitman's second leading scorer with 12.7 point per game, he also ranked eighth in the league with 5.7 rebounds per game.
