Men's Soccer Extends To Perfect League Record With Win at Linfield

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Whitman College men's soccer team continued its historic run with a 1-0 Northwest Conference victory over Linfield University on Saturday afternoon at Linfield Soccer Field.

With the win, the Blues hold the only unblemished league record at 4-0, while their overall record improves to an impressive 5-0-3. This marks the program's best league start since 2013, when the Blues began with three wins and a tie.

The decisive moment arrived in the 31st minute when Kevin Serrano found the back of the net off an assist from Lucas McAllister, delivering his second goal of the season and what proved to be the lone goal of the match. Whitman outshot Linfield 16-4 over the 90 minutes, pressuring the Wildcats' defense throughout and dominating possession to keep their hosts on their heels.

Niclas Isensee anchored another stout defensive effort, recording his fifth win of the campaign as Whitman allowed only four shots—none finding their way on target. The defense, led by Pablo Gonzalez, Jr. and Alexander Perez Hernandez, maintained a firm line to secure the shutout.

The Blues are next in action at Lewis & Clark on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
