McManus, Davies, Relay Team Close Out NWC Championship

SPOKANE, Wash. - Jack McManus and Payton Davies led Whitman College's distance runners on the final day of the Northwest Conference Championships, highlighted by McManus' top-five finish in the 5,000 meters.

McManus placed fourth in the event, crossing the line in 15:00.20 to secure a strong finish against a competitive conference field. Davies also competed in the 5,000, taking 14th with a time of 19:07.06.

In relay action, the men's 4x400-meter team of Micah Knight, Danny Steinberg, Giles Billick, and Mason Fouty turned in a season-best performance. The quartet finished eighth overall with a time of 3:37.44.

The Blues continue action for the next several weeks as individuals pursue qualifying times for NCAA regional races.
