Ricardo joined the men's soccer coaching staff in the fall of 2025.
A graduate from Hermiston High School, he continued both his academic and athletic journey at George Fox University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education in 2017. During his collegiate career, he was a four-year member of the George Fox men’s soccer team, appearing in 47 matches and recording 192 saves as a goalkeeper.
Immediately after college, he returned to his hometown and joined the Hermiston High School boys soccer program in the fall of 2017. He served as the assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for six seasons (2017–2023). In 2023, he was named head coach of the program, and in his first official season at the helm, he earned the honor of Mid-Columbia Conference Soccer Coach of the Year.
Coach Sotelo holds a U.S. Soccer National D Coaching License and resides in Hermiston, OR.
