Whitman College Athletics

Casey Mickelson is the president of the W Club. He graduated from Whitman in 1975 and spent his career in the Forest Products Industry.  His career path began in Portland, Ore. as a lumber trader, and then moved to Richmond, Va. and, later, Birmingham, Ala. where he served as President of two of the organization’s trading companies.  He retired in 2019 and now splits his time between Phoenix, Ariz. and Gig Harbor, Wash.

While at Whitman, Casey played on the tennis team under coach Burgess.  He is a member of Phi Delta Theta, served as a student body officer in the ASWC, and was active in the college choir and the musical arts program at Harper Joy.  He met and married Lynn Kamman (’75) at Whitman, and they have three grown children and four grandchildren.  The intense friendships he made have stood the test of time – definitely his favorite memories are wrapped in those friendships.
