Whitman College Athletics

As an avid Whitman junkie, Joy has had the opportunity to volunteer for the College for over two decades. While at Whitman, her activities and interests were varied, from the Greek system, varsity and intramural athletics, participation in the Black Student Union, volunteering in the writing center, and serving as a student intern in the Office of the President for two years. She graduated from Whitman with a BA in English Literature. After leaving Whitman, she taught English Literature and Journalism at Bellarmine Preparatory School. It was also at this time that her service to Whitman as a board member began, and she served as the Young Alumni Rep to the Alumni Board. She is currently a managing broker and co-owner of two John L Scott franchises. Joy currently resides in Bellingham, WA, with her Garrett Scholar husband, the family dog, Cosmo, and their two almost-launched kiddos, one of whom will be a Whitman grad in 2024.
