WSOC15 AC Marton

Becky Marton

Hired to the staff in the summer of 2015, Becky Marton brings to Whitman College's women's soccer program a player's background and a scientific coaching eye.

Marton was an all-conference performer for the Alma (Mich.) College women's soccer team and earned all-region honors following her final season in 2011. Her Scots teams compiled winning records -- overall and within the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association -- each of her four years, ending their season twice in the MIAA tournament championship game before finally breaking through with a league title and NCAA appearance in 2011.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Alma in 2012 Marton eventually continued her education at California State Fresno University (Fresno State) where she completed her master's degree in sports psychology in May of 2015.

While at Fresno State she served as in intern with the women's soccer team. Working out of the Kinesiology Department Marton helped the soccer program by generating and analyzing sport performance data using the Prozone System, and taught undergraduate classes including a Motor Learning Lab.

Marton also served as a Guest Reviewer for the United States Olympic Committee Coach of the Year Selection Committee in March of 2014.

The time between Alma and Fresno State is when Marton began to dip her toes into the coaching side of soccer. In Williamston, Michigan, she spent time with Williamston High School as the assistant varsity and head JV coach, and led the Under-14 girls' soccer program.

Marton holds her E Soccer Coaching License.
