Solomon got the best of Nanda 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match, and Moshevich came within a few points of snaring another team point at No. 2. Spearman prevailed in that match, however, nipping Moshevich 6-2, 5-7, 10-7.

Whitman, the two-time NWC defending champion, is off until Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, when it hosts Pacific and Linfield in its last home matches of the season. It can clinch a third straight conference crown by winning those two matches.

Whitman completes its NWC regular season with two matches at Whitworth on Sunday, April 11.

The conference tournament, slated for Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, in Yakima, Wash., will determine the NWC's automatic entry into the NCAA Division III national tournament.
