Bryanna Schreiber kept a clean sheet in goal to lift the Whitman College women's soccer team its first road win of the season, a 1-0 defeat at Pacific (Ore.) Friday night at Hanson Stadium.
The win gave the Blues (4-11-1, 4-8 NWC) a season sweep of the Boxers (2-12-1, 2-8-1 NWC) after a 4-1 home win nearly a month ago.
Whitman's late goal began after the Blues drew a foul outside the penalty area.
Dani Espinoza found Hetherington off the free kick who scored past Boxer keeper Saya Brown. The goal was the first in four games for Whitman and proved to be a crucial one.
Schreiber posted four saves in recording her first shutout in five starts this season with Brown turning away two Whitman shots.
The Boxers had most of the goal scoring opportunities, outshooting the Blues 19-7.
With just the lone match this weekend, Whitman returns to the pitch next Saturday, Oct. 27 hosting Linfield College at 12:00 p.m.
