TACOMA, Wash. – The Whitman College women's soccer team continues to search for its first win of the season and wouldn't find it today, falling 3-0 to Pacific Lutheran in Northwest Conference action Sunday at East Field.
Elly Wolfe got the start in net for the Blues (0-5-1, 0-2 NWC) and posted four saves while giving up the three PLU (2-2-2, 1-1 NWC) goals. Natalie Robinson recorded one save on Whitman's lone shot. The Lutes outshot the Blues 12-1 on the afternoon.
Tasha Tennyson scored a pair of goals, the first and gamewinner coming in the 36
th minute. The Blues defense held off the Lutes to that point but finally gave up the score shortly before halftime.
Ellie Johnson padded the lead shortly after the break with a goal in the 55
th minute off a pass from Liz Griffith then Tennyson capped the scoring just over 10 minutes later with her second goal.
The Blues next visit Whitworth on Wednesday, Sept. 19 for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
