TACOMA, Wash. - With nearly equal offense in both halves, the Whitman College women's lacrosse team took a competitive halftime score and raced away for a 21-6 win at the University of Puget Sound in Northwest Conference action on Saturday.

Nina Moore and Sage Ali both continued their impressive play to lead the Blues (4-2, 2-0 NWC). Moore scored four goals, tallied a game-high three assists and scooped up four groundballs with Ali scoring four goals of her own, all in the second half, and handing out two assists. Hannah Miller and Isabel Regonini both added three goals to help Whitman to its second straight game of 20 or more goals.

Anna Cadigan played a full 60 minutes in goal for Whitman and recorded four saves. Ally Benko posted nine saves on 36 Whitman shots in a full game of action for the Loggers (3-4, 1-3 NWC).

The two teams played each even through nearly the first 10 minutes of the game. Jenna Kisner's free position goal evened the score at 3-3 but the Blues would then begin to takeover. Back-to-back Moore goals put her team up 6-3 then a late Regonini score, her second of the half, helped Whitman take a five-goal lead into halftime.

Whitman kept the momentum going in the second half while surrendering just one UPS goal in those final 30 minutes. Moore and Regonini both assisted on goals by Ali and Katie Hinnen within the first 10 minutes of the second half as Whitman built a 14-5 lead.

Whitman will host back-to-back Northwest Conference home games next weekend. The Blues play George Fox on Saturday, Apr. 6 in a battle of league heavyweights then face Willamette the following day. Both start times are set for 1:00 p.m.
