McMINNVILLE, Ore. - After several difficult results at last month's ITA National Indoor Championships, the Whitman College men's tennis team rebounded nicely, proving to be too much for Linfield in a 9-0 Northwest Conference win over the Wildcats on Saturday.

The match was the NWC opener for the Blues who improved to 2-6 overall on the season and won each singles match via sweeps.

The morning began with Whitman taking care of business in doubles play, albeit with several competitive matches. The most closely contested was at the three but the Blues pair of Aaron Yuan and Jack Fleming claimed an 8-5 win over Linfield's Trent Prussing and Cameron Ventura.

The one and two doubles teams won their singles matches as well. Matthew Biggi and Derek Simonsen would also see action in singles, winning on the No. 5 and No. 6 courts, respectively, to help with the impressive win.

The Blues stay on the road for more NWC play on Sunday against Pacific at 11:00 a.m.
