WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College men's tennis team opened the Northwest Conference Tournament with a bang, making quick work of Lewis & Clark in a 5-0 defeat on Saturday at the Whitman Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Blues (11-10) swept through doubles play with the biggest win coming on the No. 2 court. The Whitman pair of Daniel Foster and Ben Kirsh took down Lewis & Clark's Raed Attia and Ramez Attia 8-2. The other two matches saw wins by Alex Hwang and Andreas Mueller-Immergluck at the one and Rajul Chikkalingaiah and Adam Rapoport at three.

With postseason play having the match concluded when one team reaches five wins, the match ended quickly with wins on the No. 4 and No. 6 courts. Hwang and Chikkalingaiah both won their second matches of the day, sweeping Will McDermott and Ryan Hayes, respectively, 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the victory.
