WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College women's soccer team hosted its first match of the 2022 season which ended in a scoreless draw to Columbia Basin College in exhibition action at the Whitman Athletic Complex. The game was played as the nightcap of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader.

Hanna Lynch, Hannah Hagler and Emily Badgley each played 30 minutes in goal for Blues for the combined shutout.

Though both teams were able to string together passes and possess the ball, neither team was able to find the back of the net.

"This was an exciting night under the lights. The team played very well," said head coach Michelle Voiland. "They executed the game plan and created numerous scoring opportunities. I was very happy with our mentality and physicality in the match. The next step is to be more clinical in the final third. I am looking forward to our games this weekend and another opportunity to get out under the lights."

The Blues will play their season opener when they host Doane University on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 7:00 p.m. as part of the three-day inaugural Whitman Blues Invitational.
