WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College men's tennis team closed the 2023 ITA Fall Northwest Regional Championship with a trio of semifinal appearances and one single winner in the B draw.

Newcomer Hanri Luo navigated the field and, in an all-Whitman championship match, beat William Lanstra in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Luo failed to lose a single set en route to his singles victory.

Cameron Yang saw his tournament end after topping teammate Luca Viarengo in Saturday's quarterfinal. In this morning's semifinal, he fell in straight sets to George Fox's Eli Mizerski, 6-2, 6-3.

A pair of Whitman doubles teams also played their semifinal matches this morning but came up short. Whitman's pair of Harshvardhan Chopra and Lucas Huang gave George Fox all it could handle, but fell 8-7 (2) in a tiebreak.

Whitman now looks toward the spring championship season after the new year.
