Women's Volleyball Edged By Cal Lu In Five Sets

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College women's volleyball team pushed Cal Lutheran to the limit on the final day of the Slug Fest Tournament, but came up short in a five-set loss to the Regals on Saturday morning. Set scores were 25-12, 23-25, 25-9, 18-25, 16-14

Following the tournament, Nicole Kelly was named to the All-Tournament team.

The match twice saw the Blues rally from a set down, both after solid defeats. Set five went into extra points but with the Regals coming out on top.

Bella Vickers led all hitters with 17 kills and Quinn Pulver did the same with five blocks.

Next up for the Blues is a visit to Texas where they will play four matches in two days beginning with the University of St. Thomas (TX) on Friday, Sept. 8
