NEWBERG, Ore. - Artem Manov and Lucas Huang both won at doubles and singles to lift the Whitman College men's tennis team to a 5-2 victory over Lewis & Clark in the semifinals of the Northwest Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues now face George Fox on Sunday in the tournament final set to start at 12:00 p.m.

Whitman had the advantage heading to singles as it won two of the three doubles matches for a one-point lead. Manov and Charles Rush won their match on the No. 1 court and Huang and Cameron Yang broke the tie with an 8-7 tiebreak win at the two.

The Blues earned each of their three singles victories via sweeps to advance to the championship match. Huang topped Kai Wills for the second time, beating him 7-5, 6-1 on the No. 2 court. Manov did the same with Joey Lyon at three, ousting him for a second time with a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

Alejandro Raffo handled his business at the five, also with a 6-3, 6-2 win.

Whitman will look to hand the Bruins their first conference loss this year, regular or postseason, when the two teams square off for the title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
