Swimming Concludes Weekend With Dominants Wins Over Pacific

FOREST GROVE, Ore. - The Whitman College swimming teams closed their opening weekend with commanding victories over Pacific in Northwest Conference action. The women's team won 138-48 and the men's team secured a dominant 167-19 victory.​

The Blues set the tone from the start, winning both medley relays. The Whitman women's relay team posted a time of 2:00.33, while the men's relay squad finished at 1:42.65, outpacing their Boxer opponents by wide margins.​

The Blues, in fact, did not lose a single race and swept podium spots in nearly every event, underscoring their depth and preparation for the season.​

On the men's side, standout swims included Brodie Salzbrener's sprint double with wins in the 50-yard freestyle (22.40) and 100-yard backstroke (55.63), and Jay Boivin's distance dominance in the mile (17:38.93).​

The women's team saw Siena Hayes cruise to victory in the 1650 freestyle (20:30.83), while Avery Riley claimed the 100 freestyle (56.73).​

Relays remained a strong point for both squads, with the men's and women's 200 free relay teams finishing first by wide margins.​

Whitman closes the fall portion of their schedule with its home opener on Saturday, Nov. 15 against George Fox.
