Women's Volleyball Tops George Fox On Senior Night

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College women's volleyball team earned a pivotal four-set victory over George Fox on Saturday at the Sherwood Center, keeping the Blues in control of the fourth and final Northwest Conference Tournament spot. Set scores were 26-24, 25-20, 17-25, 25-8.

Prior to match, the Blues honored seniors Lilli Thompson and Jamie Bartok for their years of service to Whitman volleyball

Addie Belt led all players with 15 kills, also serving up critical aces and making several digs in key moments. Bella Vickers and Guschchina both added nine more. added nine kills and strong blocking at the net, helping Whitman control the front line. Jamie Bartok steadied the back row with reliable passing and timely defensive plays., also posting a match-high 17 digs

Whitman weathered a tense opening set, coming from behind in late rallies to steal it 26-24. They kept momentum in the second, with strong sideouts and effective attacks for a 25-20 win. George Fox responded with a 25-17 third-set win fueled by a sharper attack percentage, but the Blues roared back, dominating the fourth set 25-8 for the match victory.

With the win, Whitman improves to 10-11 overall (9-5 NWC) and firmly holds on to the final playoff seed as the regular season nears its close. They'll look to maintain this standing as they head toward a decisive final weekend which includes matches at Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound.
