Men's Tennis Remains Unbeaten With Win At Pacific

2/23/2025 8:16:00 PM

Box Score FOREST GROVE, Ore. - The Whitman College men's tennis team remained among the ranks of the league's unbeaten, rallying to take down Pacific 5-2 in Northwest Conference action on Sunday.

The win keeps the Blues (3-1, 3-0 NWC) perfect in the loss column along with Lewis & Clark (4-0) and George Fox (2-0).

Whitman did have to rally after seeing the Boxers win twice in doubles to claim the point. The Blues fell on the No. 3 court but squared matters after Artem Manov and Charles Rush topped Lucas Fuhrmann and Joshua Dela 6-3 at the two.

Alexander Stage and Noah Baker were unable to come through at first doubles as Pacific headed to singles up a point.

Whitman posted wins in the first four singles matches to clinch the win. All came via sweeps with the match-clincher coming at the three when Lucas Huang topped Alexander Kinoshita 6-4, 7-6 (3) in a hard-fought match.

The Blues have a busy next weekend when they host George Fox, Eastern Washington and Linfield.
