TACOMA, Wash. - Five members of the Whitman College distance track team hit Northwest Conference Championship qualifying standards to highlight a fruitful day at the PLU Invitational held Saturday at Pacific Lutheran Track.

The men's side Jack McManus and Reilly McVay both qualify for the 5000m at the upcoming NWC Championship and trio of top five finishes. McManus placed third (15:30.40) and McVay not far back with a 15:14.04 race time good for fourth place. Henry Roller also had a solid showing in the 5000m where he placed fifth overall (15:42.32). In total, six Blues placed in the top 10.

McVay cracked the top 5 in the 1500m as well, placing fourth with a race time of 4:09.71. Jonathan Grothe was the top finisher in that race with a third-place finish (4:09.27)
