Distance Track Concludes NWC Championship With 11 PR's

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Whitman College distance track team concluded the 2025 Northwest Conference Track & Field Championship on an impressive note as 11 runners recorded personal bests including top 10 finishes by both Maleda Sims and Reilly McVay.

The 5000 meter saw the most success from the Blues. On the men's side, McVay recorded his top time with a top 10 finish (10th, 14:56.45). Two others cracked the top 20 in Jack McManus (17th, 15:06.25), Jack Rousseau (17th, 15:10.68) and Jonathan Grothe (19th, 15:12.13). Rousseau's time was a personal record.

The women's 5000 meter saw all four Whitman runners place in the top 10 and record new personal records. Lucy Hennessy (13th, 18:46.10), Dori Buttleman (14th, 18:51.69), Ally Kim (19th, 19:07.72) and Payton Davies (20th, 19:09.53) all ran fine races.

Three more PR's were achieved, two coming from Sims in the prelims of the 200 meter (26.57) and 400 meter (1:00.00).
