Men's Tennis Advances In Singles and Doubles at ITA's

NEWBERG, Ore. - Day 2 of the ITA Fall Northwest Regional Tennis Championship came to a close with several members of the Whitman College men's tennis team continuing to advance in both the singles and doubles competitions.

Singles action saw both Alexander Stage and Artem Manov win their Round of 16 and quarterfinal matches to earn spots in Sunday's semifinals. Stage cruised in his two wins, but Manov had to rally from a set down in his first match of the day before winning in straight sets in the quarterfinal.

Both will play in their own semifinals at 12:00 p.m.

Manov also stayed alive in doubles play, winning his quarterfinal match 8-5 with partner Charles Rush. The Whitman duo will square off in one semifinal at 9:00 a.m. also on Sunday.
