Men's Soccer Earns Hard-Fought Draw at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - In a hard-fought non-conference matchup, the Whitman College men's soccer team battled Colorado College to a 2–2 draw. 

Teddy Opler netted a goal for CC only three minutes into the game. The Blues (0-0-2) found the equalizer when William Miranda-Ortiz found the back of the net shortly before halftime. Colorado College answered back and scored in the 67th minute to regain the lead and tilt the momentum its way.

Whitman refused to back down. With just two minutes remaining in regulation, Pablo Gonzalez, Jr. delivered a clutch equalizer to secure the tie and cap off a spirited comeback. Takahiro Hikida assisted on the play which gave the Blues their second 2-2 result in as many games to start the season.

Niclas Isensee played the full 90 in net for the Blues and posted six saves. Spencer Besselaar registered three saves in goal for the Tigers.

The Blues continue their Colorado Springs trip with a neutral site match on Friday against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
