Distance Track Kicks Off Outdoor Competition

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Whitman College distance track teams concluded their first outdoor meet of the season, competing most prominently in the 10,000 meter at the Linfield Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker.

Payton Davies, Emme Rousseau and Lily Kamila all cracked the top 30 in the 10,000 meter. Davies led the way with a personal best time of 40:10.85 good for 14th overall. Rousseau also hit a personal record in finishing 23rd (41:46.65) and Kamila rounded out the top 30 with a 26th-place finish (42:20.76).

The men's side saw great performances from its top four finishers. Alex Burns led the Whitman contingent in finishing 32nd (31:49.42). He was followed by Jack Rousseau, Quinny Stuart and Danny Steinberg who all recorded personal bests.

Whitman is back in action for the Pacific Open on March 28.
