Men's, Women's Golf Teams Conclude NWC Spring Classic

DUPONT, Wash. - The Whitman College men's golf team finished second and the women's team placed fourth as both squads wrapped up a strong showing at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic at Oakbrook Golf & Country Club on Sunday.

Whitman's men's squad used a balanced lineup to secure a runner-up finish at the 36-hole event, led by Ben Sweet, who tied for second individually at 2-over par for the tournament. Sweet opened with a 2-over round, then came back with an even-par final round to secure his top-three finish. Grady Brown added an 8th-place result at 4-over, while Caelan Wobbrock and Eshan Singh each closed at 8-over to help lock in Whitman's hold on second on the team leaderboard.

On the women's side, the Blues battled through a deep conference field to claim fourth. Camilla Woo led the Blues in shooting 15-over for the two days and placed 12th. Close behind her was Beatrice Archer who lifted her game in the final round, shooting a seven-over to help her move up five spots good for a tie for 14th.

With the Spring Classic counting toward the Northwest Conference's overall championship formula, both Whitman squads remain firmly in contention heading into the upcoming NWC Championship later this month.

Before the Championships, both Blues squads take on the field at the Wildcat Invitational next Sunday and Monday.
