Whitman College Athletics

Lucas Thrun joined the coaching staff in the spring of 2021. An alumnus of the program, Thrun competed for the Blues from 2016-19 and was a starting first baseman his senior year on a team that won the 2019 NWC Championship.

Thrun also brings coaching experience. He was an assistant coach on the Boys of Summer 15u team in 2018 and '20, and assisted on the 16u team in 2019.

He was also the assistant varsity coach at Liberty High School in 2020, a season that was cut short by the Coronavirus pandemic, and taught hitting lessons at Sammamish Baseball Academy (2019-2020)
