Whitman College Athletics

Gwen Dildine joined the Whitman College volleyball program as an assistant coach in 2025. After moving to Walla Walla from Texas in 1998, Gwen attended a local high school just down the road from Whitman, where she played volleyball. She began her collegiate playing career at Colorado State University before realizing there is no place like home on the Palouse, ultimately continuing her student-athlete experience at Washington State University.

Primarily a setter throughout her career, Gwen also gained experience playing middle blocker and opposite. At Whitman College, she supports the program by working with setters and middles, preparing scouting reports, taking statistics during matches, and assisting with a variety of administrative responsibilities.

Outside the gym, Gwen enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family. She met her husband, Steve, while attending Washington State University. Steve is a Firefighter/EMT with Walla Walla County Fire District 4. Together, they have two children, Allen and Joanna.

Gwen strives to support student-athletes as they realize their potential, build confidence, and embrace the joy of the game.
