Taylor Stewart

Taylor Stewart joined the volleyball coaching staff in July of 2017. Prior to her arrival at Whitman she spent time at William Jewell (Mo.) College as the volunteer assistant for the Cardinals' NCAA Division II volleyball program, which followed a three-year stint as the head girls volleyball coach at Potlach Jr.-Sr. High School.

Stewart has also served as a coach at the Washington State University Summer Volleyball Camp (2015, 2017) and as the coach for the Under-18 Eastern Oregon Volleyball Club (Dec. 2013–March 2014).

A 2014 graduate of Eastern Oregon University, Stewart was an outside hitter for the volleyball team. She started all four years and was part of a program that accumulated 78 wins during her time with the Mountaineers, including a 25-6 mark her senior year after which she earned Cascade Conference Honorable Mention recognition.

Stewart was a three-sport athlete at Priest River Lamanna High School in Priest River, Idaho. She was all-league in volleyball, basketball and track her sophomore, junior and senior years, and was named the North Idaho Female Athlete of the Year in each of those sports her final year at Priest River.

At EOU Stewart majored in media arts communication with a concentration in digital design and later went on to earn a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Idaho.

Throughout the years following her graduation she utilized her academic fields of study while also coaching. Stewart includes on her resume time as the Website/Social Media Manager for the City of Priest River, as a sports information assistant at her alma mater, and as a sports information graduate assistant at University of Missouri at Kansas City. She also served as a substitute teacher in the Potlatch school system during the fall of 2016.

At Whitman, Stewart will assist Helm with all practices and matches as well as in recruiting. She will handle travel arrangements for the program and will share time with Helm in leading the team's conditioning program.
