Whitman, now 10-5 on the season (10-2 in the Northwest Conference), wraps up its Spring Break to California on Saturday with a match against the University of California-Santa Cruz.
Chapman took an early lead by winning two of three matches in doubles. Hadley DeBree and Emily Rolston got the win for Whitman with an 8-4 triumph at No. 3, but Katie Oost and Divneet Kaur came up just short at No. 2, losing 9-7.Â
Whitman's two wins came at the lower end of the ladder, where Kaur won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4 and Margo Lentz rolled 6-2, 6-1 at at No. 5. Rolston lost a close 6-4, 6-4 decison at No. 6 singles.
