WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Getting a dominating performance from its entire line-up, the Whitman College women's tennis team rolled over Whittier College 9-0 in a Saturday morning Spring Break match in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Whitman won its fifth straight decision and elevated its season record to 8-3 pending the outcome of a second match later in the day. The loss snapped a string of three Whitter victories and left the Poets with a 5-6 record on the season.

Whitman swept the opening matches in doubles with relative ease.
Winning duos for the Missionaries were Hadley DeBree and Divneet Kaur at No. 1 (8-2), Elise Otto and Charlotte Scott at No. 2 (8-3), and Emily Rolston and Kate Kunkel-Patterson at No. 3.
Otto led the sweep in singles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Kady Oliker in the No. 1 match.
DeBree was a 6-0, 6-4 winner over Lauren Gelgur at No. 2. Kaur lost just one game (6-0, 6-1) in downing Elizabeth Reitzell at No. 3.
Other straight-set winners for Whitman were Rolston at No. 4, Kunkel-Patterson at No. 5 and Dena Wessel at No. 6.
The two sides also staged an exhibition match at No. 7 singles with Whitman's Charlotte Scott winning an 8-4 pro-set decision.
After today's second match against UC-Santa Cruz, Whitman has three more Spring Break matches slated for next week.
