WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Whitman College uncorked a total of 32 shots and senior Amy Hasson booted her first collegiate hat trick as the Missionaries skipped past Eastern Oregon 3-0 Sunday afternoon at the Whitman Athletic Fields.
The one-sided triumph kicked off Whitman's season and dropped the Mountaineers to 1-3 on the season.
The Missionaries gained an early 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game when Hasson rifled an unassisted 30-yard scoring strike into the upper left corner of the net.

Hasson nearly scored again in the 33rd minute but her shot clanged off the post.
After taking 15 shots in the first half, which ended with Whitman nursing its 1-0 lead, the Missionaries kept up the pressure with five more shots in the first 11 minutes of the second stanza.
Whitman broke through for a second goal at the 57:10 mark of the second half when Hasson collected a crossing pass from sophomore Pamela London and slotted a ball past the keeper.
Hasson's third goal came about 12 minutes later on a scoring play that started with a quick corner kick from junior Jaclyn Rudd and included passes from senior Kate Potter and sophomore Hallie Swan.
Eastern Oregon, after failing to generate a single shot in the first half, got its offense untracked with four shots in the second half. Two of those attempts were on frame, forcing senior keeper Lauren Brougham to make two saves.
Sophomore keeper Emily Davis played the first half in goal for the Missionaries.
Potter was one of three Whitman starters who played all 90 minute along the defensive back line. Senior Libby Watkins and junior Erin Flannery also went the distance.
