Hall Drills Career High 12 Kills, Blues Sweep George Fox

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Rebecca Hall delivered a career-high 12 kills, Codie Conching posted a match-best 20 digs and the Whitman College women's volleyball team earned a much needed 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 sweep over George Fox in Northwest Conference action Saturday Night at the Sherwood Athletics Center.

Hall added nine digs for a near double double with Claire McCarthy and Cali Anderson adding 16 and 13 digs, respectively.

Danyle Dupray led the Bruins (8-12, 2-10 NWC) with 11 kills with Aryah Marlow recording a match-high five blocks and Sophia Lawrence adding a team-best 17 digs.

The Bruins opened up a 5-1 lead to start the match but kills from Anderson and Conching tied the score at 10-10. The two teams traded points before Hall drilled a kill then got another off the block to push her team to an 18-15 lead. The Bruins would come back to tie up the score but after a pair of kills from Sierra Myers and a dump from Emma Anderson the Blues sealed the set one win.

Whitman (8-12, 4-8 NWC) took a two-set lead after an exciting set two win. Megan Henry's kill put the Blues up 15-10 but back-to-back kills from Dupray brought the Bruins back and tied the set at 17-17. George Fox would later take a 22-20 lead but Whitman turned it on to rally and win the set on a Brooke Randall kill.

Whitman looked prime to complete the sweep after taking a 17-10 set three lead. A handful of Blues hitters got in on the action to lift their team to the big lead. George Fox would rally though and tie the set at 21-21 on the strength of back-to-back kills from Liv Alexander. Whitman regained control and completed the sweep on a match-cinching Conching kill.

The Blues hit the road once more, playing matches next Friday and Saturday first at Pacific Lutheran. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
