BOISE, Idaho - The Whitman College women's team returned from its spring break trip to China with a trip to Boise State, but came up short to its Division I foe, falling 7-0 to the Broncos Saturday morning at the Appleton Tennis Center.

The Broncos claimed the doubles point after wins on the No. 3 and No. 1 courts. Anastasiya Redkina and Audrey Grigore dropped a 6-1 result at the three before Mary Hill and Andrea Gu fell at the one to the Boise State pair of Wilhelmina Palmer and Lilian Poling, 6-2.

The Broncos won all six singles matches with the clincher coming when Redkina fell to Vanessa Timm 6-1, 6-1 on the No. 3 court. Lorin DeMuth at the six, then Sheng at the four were the first results to come in before Timm's sweep of Redkina sealed the win.

The tightest match of the day came on the No. 5 singles court. Grigore dropped the opening set 6-1 to Sydnie Bender but gave her counterpart a battle in set two, though ultimately falling 6-1, 6-4 to conclude the match.

The Blues return to Northwest Conference action next weekend hosting Willamette. The teams square off Saturday, Apr. 6 at 9:30 a.m. in what is expected to be the first outdoor match of the spring on the Whitman Tennis Courts.
