Miller Scores Season High, Blues Dominate Pacific

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - With the season winding down, the Whitman College women's lacrosse team played its second of a three game-three day stretch, beating Pacific (Ore.) 23-7 on Sunday afternoon in a designated home game on neutral ground.

Hannah Miller had quite a game for the Blues (9-4, 7-2 NWC), scoring a game and season-high six goals to go along with two assists. Sage Ali added five goals and three assists with Chantal Arnold and Isabel Regonini each scoring three.

Roya Tahamassebi was nearly a one-woman show for the Boxer offense, scoring five of her team's seven goals.

Anna Cadigan and Piper Spencer each played a half in goal for the Blues and made a combine three saves. Rachel Ariza posted 10 saves in a full game of action for Pacific.

Miller opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game for Whitman who never trailed, beating Ariza with an assist from Ali. Tahamassebi evened the game moments later but the Blues would begin to distance themselves from Pacific. Ali scored with just over a minute to play and Miller added another just seconds befor the break and the Blues carried a 9-3 lead into halftime.

The second half was all Blues from the get-go. Regonini scored two early goals and Arnold added another less than three minutes into the half to put the Blues well on their way to the comfortable win.

Whitman remains in McMinnville for one more day and will take on Linfield on Monday, Apr. 22 at 5:00 p.m.
