McMINNVILLE, Ore. - In dominant fashion, the Whitman College women's tennis team took down Lewis & Clark, 5-0, to advance to Saturday's Northwest Conference Tournament title match against host Linfield who topped Puget Sound in the first semifinal of the day.

Mary Hill and Andrea Gu continued their NWC doubles play dominance, topping their Pio opponents 8-1 for the match's first result. Lori Sheng and Kattie Pak then at the two, and Anastasiya Redkina and Audrey Grigore at the three followed suit as the Blues took a 3-0 lead into singles.

Whitman closed in on the win early in singles play as all but one player easily won their opening set. Gu gave the Blues their fourth point with her 6-3, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court, then Sheng clinched the win with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat at the four.

Linfield topped Whitman in their one meeting this season which was also Whitman's lone conference loss. The two teams square off for the title on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
