Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Blues Rebound For Dominant Win Over Willamette

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Sage Ali posted game highs of five goals and five assists to help the Whitman College women's lacrosse team rebound from yesterday's loss with a dominant 20-2 win over an undermanned Willamette team, Sunday in Northwest Conference action at the Whitman Athletic Fields.

Anna Cadigan and Piper Spencer combined for a solid Whitman (5-3, 3-1 NWC) presence in goal. Cadigan earned the start, giving up just the two Willamette goals and posting three saves in 36:57 minutes of action. Kara Phillips made 20 saves for the Bearcats (4-7, 2-4 NWC) in a full 60 minutes of action.

Willamette netted its two goals inside of the first four minutes of the game. Bridget Blaney and Victoria Glidden scored to put their team up 2-1 but that would be all the offense the Bearcats would muster. Nina Moore would score two of her three goals inside of 10 minutes to play in the half and Whitman carried a 10-2 lead into the break.

Whitman would added another 10 goals in the second half and held the Bearcats scoreless.

Isabel Regonini was active on the attack, taking a team-high 10 shots and scoring on three. Anna Kilo added a pair of goals and four assists with Claire Pinger scooping up three groundballs and causing four turnovers.

The Blues hit the road next weekend for a pair of Northwest Conference games, first at Linfield this Saturday, Apr. 13 then vs. Pacific the following day. Both start times are set for 1:00 p.m.
