WALLA, WALLA, Wash. - Played in a match medal format, the Whitman College men's golf team took down cross town foe Walla Walla University 3.5-2.5, Sunday at the Wine Valley Golf Course.

Tom Hoyne topped Kevin Cummings 6&4, Ian Scarborough beat Jack Stinson 6&5, and Max Ray-Keil beat Bryson Collins 5&4. Luc halved his match against Jamison Collins with Matt Bowman falling to Blake Johnson and Charlie Schneider losing to Derek Irvine.

Luc Birchfield came back with a strong finish to square up his match versus Jamison Collins. Luc was 4 down with 5 holes left to play. He ended up with a birdie on hole 14, 15, tie on hole 16, won hole 17 with a par, and finished on hole 18 with an impressive eagle.
