Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Erica Mock dominated in singles and doubles to highlight an impressive opening day performance by the Whitman College women's tennis team who blanked Puget Sound 9-0 in non-conference action, Saturday at the Whitman Tennis Courts.

Mock teamed up with Arianna Castellanos at second doubles to dominate UPS's Andie Machida and Avery Honaker 8-1. The win came after Grace Carter and Camilla Tarpey-Schwed blanked Laura Schneidman and Libby Stroup to ensure the Blues (1-0) the lead heading into singles play. 

Mock kicked off singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rachel Heinke before Tarpey-Shwed came in with the second result, a 6-0, 6-0 win over Honaker to clinch the win for the Blues.

Ilina Jha at the one, Mae Thorp at the four and Piper Rylander at the six all won in straight sets with the match decided. The most exciting win of the day came with Kaylah Tan's three-set win at fifth singles. She topped Kyla Catham 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 to help run the table.

The Blues conclude their fall schedule on Sunday, Oct. 10 against UC Santa Cruz. Matches begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Whitman Tennis Courts.
