NEWBERG, Ore. - Day two of the ITA Northwest Fall Regional Championships concluded with Whitman College women's tennis players Angel Le, Ilina Jha, Camilla Tarpey-Schwed, Erica Mock and Arianna Castellanos advancing in singles or doubles.
 
All four won both matches to advance to the singles Round of 16, and the teams of Le/Castellanos and Jha/Tarpey-Schwed won to earn spots in the doubles quarterfinals.
 
Top seeded Le was dominant in her two wins. She opened with a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of Libertad Samiento of PLU before beating Whitworth's Gracie Smyley 6-1, 6-2. Le also joined doubles mate Castellanos and dropped only one game in their two matches.
 
Jha, also seeded in the singles competition, was similarly dominant. She won at love against PLU's Tianna Jeffries then beat Macarana Vives from Lewis & Clark 6-2, 6-1. Jha and Tarpey-Schwed then teamed up for a flawless day on the doubles court. They won both their matches at love to advance to Sunday's quarterfinals.
 
Singles competitions begin at 8:30 a.m. with the winners advancing to play in the 11:30 a.m. round of quarterfinal matches. All quarterfinal doubles matches are set for 4:00 p.m.
