NEWBERG, Ore. - Jin Yu and Teleya Blunt concluded a fantastic showing at the ITA Fall Northwest Regional Championship, coming up just short of titles in doubles and singles on the final day of the tournament held Sunday at the Multi-Use Facility.

On Saturday, Yu topped teammate Julie Longpre to advance to Sunday's semifinals against Cassidy Binder of Pacific. A championship would not be in the cards however as Yu fell to Binder in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.

After a break, Yu squared off against Binder once again, this time with Teleya Blunt in the doubles championship match. In a best of three format for the championship, Cassidy and Sydnie Binder took down Yu and Blunt 6-0, 6-2.

Sunday also featured a Whitman winner in the second round A singles consolation. Illina Jha and Sascha Wells squared off in one semifinal, with Wells moving on in straight sets then taking down Sofia Mazzola (Pacific) in the final, 7-6 (5), 6-1.

The Blues close out the fall next weekend hosting the Whitman Fall Invitational. They will face off against Lewis-Clark State, College of Idaho and UC Santa Cruz.
