FOREST GROVE, Ore. - With the season winding down and a league title at play, the Whitman College women's soccer team came up just short in Northwest Conference road action on Saturday, falling 1-0 to Pacific at Hanson Stadium.
Hannah Hagler continued her solid play in net for the Blues (7-5-3, 6-4-1 NWC), allowing only the one goal and posting three saves on six Pacific shots. Isabella De La Cruz recorded the shutout for the Boxers (4-9-1, 3-7-1 NWC).
The Blues registered only three shots on the game.
The lone goal and eventual game winner came in the 60th minute. Catalina Alvarado scored on an unassisted goal when she found the back of the net past Hagler.
The loss leaves the Blues, for the moment, sitting in third place behind Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran.
With only a single game this weekend, the Blues return to action next Saturday, Oct. 28 hosting Willamette at 12:00 p.m.
