NEWBERG, Ore. - The Whitman College women's tennis team continued its strong showing at the ITA Fall Northwest Regional Championship with singles and doubles titles still in play heading to Sunday, the final day of the tournament hosted by George Fox.

Jin Yu won her round of 16 and quarterfinal matches to move on for a chance to play for the title on Sunday. She first took care of Sofia Mazzola of Pacific then took down teammate Julia Longpre, both in straight sets. She will play top-seeded Cassidy Binder (Pacific) who topped Whitman's Erica Mock in the quarterfinals.

Yu will also have a chance at a doubles title with partner Teleya Blount. In the evening semifinals, the Whitman duo ousted teammates Jules Thompson and Grace Carter, 8-3, for a Sunday matchup with top-seeded Cassidy Binder and Sydnie Binder.

The singles semifinals get underway at 10:00 a.m. with the championship and a trip to the ITA Cup set for 1:00 p.m. The doubles final is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
