Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College women's tennis team clinched the Northwest Conference regular season title outright and honored Grace Carter with a special Senior Day Ceremony with a dominant 9-0 season finale win over Puget Sound on Saturday afternoon at the Whitman Tennis Courts.

The regular season title is the second straight for the Blues who, as the league's top seed, will host next weekend's Northwest Conference Tournament with a chance to advance to their second straight NCAA Tournament.

The Blues all but sealed the win with a clean sweep in doubles play with the No. 1 and No. 2 court matches finishing just moments apart. The top flight team of Teleya Blunt and Arianna Castellanos took down UPS's Krishna Agrawal and Kaylee Yamada 8-1, and Carter and Jin Yu won their No. 2 doubles match by the same score to ensure Whitman of the lead heading to singles.

Whitman had very little trouble in singles, sweeping on all courts which included seven sets won at love. Erica Mock and Yu were the first two matches completed to clinch the victory. Mock blanked Hyla Chatham at the four 6-0, 6-0 before Yu won her second match of the day in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles.

The Blues will welcome three yet-to-be determined teams to Walla Walla for next weekend's NWC Tournament. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, April 20 with the championship match set for Sunday, April 21.
