Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The postseason run came to an end for the Whitman College women's tennis team who fell at 11th-ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 5-0, on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Despite the loss, the Blues competed well on a handful of courts. The Engineers swept doubles play but Whitman was competitive at the one and two. Arianna Castellanos and Teleya Blunt fell 8-4 at first singles before the MIT pair of Kim Liao and Anastasia Samets topped Jin Yu and Grace Carter 8-5 to complete the sweep.

The match ended with MIT wins on the No. 3 and No. 6 courts. Yu fell to Jay Lu at the three 6-0, 6-2 for the Engineers' fourth point and one match away from the victory.

The match-clincher came at the six when Julia Longpre dropped a 6-0, 6-3 result to Anastasia Samets.

Whitman ends the season at 17-7 after back-to-back Northwest Conference titles and NCAA births.
