Golf Teams Conclude Day 1 of NWC Fall Classic

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference Fall Classic got underway on Sunday which saw both the Whitman College men's and women's squads exit the round with solid footing in the team standings.

The two-day Classic is being hosted by Lewis & Clark and counts toward a third of the overall conference standings when the season concludes in April.

The men's squad landed in a tie for second with Pacific Lutheran and Linfield as all three teams shot six over par. Willamette holds the top spot after closing the round at one over par.

Three Whitman golfers closed in a log jam for fourth on the individual leaderboard. Mason Remington, Ben Sweet and Caelan Wobbrock each closed the round carding an even par.

On the women's side, Whitman closed the day in fourth but sit only seven strokes back of overall leader Pacific.

Camillo Yoo and Malaina Sidhu paced the Blues with top 10 day one scores. Yoo shot three over and sits in a tie for third, and Sidhu carded a six over par good for a tie for eighth.
